7/24/12

oh my goodness, what a month.

june and july have been absolutely crazy. in a wonderful way, of course, but crazy nonetheless. first i quit my job in Texas to spend the summer in Utah, then i decided to make my vacation permanent and relocate to my beloved home town. now here i am, no job, no internet (worst. thing. EVER.) but having a blast and very excited for my new life.

so, i thought i'd just drop in and share what my summer has looked like via my Instagram (follow me @ dearprudencepix) photos:

1. right before i left for UT my brother and i took a trip down to Six Flags Over Texas. it was quite fun. and quite hot.
2. i shot this while driving home from work right before i left. at that time i was longing for the beautiful red rocks of St. George, UT and now i see that photo and yearn for the flat fields of Texas!
3. my plane ticket to UT.
4. yogurt and berries with chai tea. best served when watching the sun come up.
5. vanilla bean frapuccino. yes, please.
6. my brother, sister and I at the firework show on the 4th of July.
7. my current book fling, The Life of Pi.
8. bbq food! on the 4th of July my brother and sister and i decided to have a mini bbq for just the three of us. we chowed down on hot dogs while we watched all of the Avengers films. it was such a great holiday.
9. cupcakes from my favorite cupcake parlor, 25 Main.
10. Greek yogurt (honey flavor), fruit and granola. a favorite snack.
11. one of my best friends gave me a Wreck This Journal as a gift. i was absolutely so tickled as i've almost bought one for myself several times but just never did. i'm certainly having quite a bit of fun with it.
12. i'm just so addicted to in-n-out. i've eaten there quite a bit this summer and i'm not sick of it yet.
13. a random shot of what i was wearing today.

i hope you all are having an absolutely magnificent summer.

bejeweled alligators.

last night lauren, my sister and i went to Grimaldi's with a few other friends. the pizzeria was in a beautiful little part of Allen, TX that i had never seen. there were so many shops and such lovely scenery.
it was all so very posh.
the pizza was delicious. and the company even better. i will definitely be going back.

afterwards a few of us stopped in over at Charming Charlie's to drown in all their jewelry.
seriously. there was a ton. i don't know how anyone makes any decisions in there...
{the alligator was our fave. can you see him?^}

i love my texas adventures.
♥ ♥

p.s. have you had a chance to enter my give away yet?!

my weekend consisted of... (another weekend).

this weekend the boys were away, so the gals decided to play. playing = shopping and fooding.
we did goodwill and forever 21

and ate at pei wei (a first for me.)
they have the COOLEST drink dispenser i've ever seen. its a computer screen that allows you to click on the beverage you want and then lets you add vanilla or what have you to your drink. genius.
along with the awesome drink dispenser, many crab wantons were consumed that night. scrumptious.

it was a deliciously good weekend.

in-n-out.

when my family and i moved to utah from vegas, we waited 10+ years for an in-n-out burger to arrive in our town. finally, it did. then we moved to idaho which never got one.
after moving here to texas, i started craving the juicy, fresh, deliciousness that is in-n-out. a week later, a sign went up RIGHT NEXT TO MY WORK that said "Coming soon, In-n-Out Burger". i praised the heavens.
last week, the first two in-n-outs in the state of texas opened. and i was there.
(before looking at the pictures below, please read my disclaimer concerning my photos as of late. kthnx.)

i may or may not have had in-n-out 3 times in the last 5 days...

p.s. i've updated my photog blog if you wanna check it out.

about my vacay {part 1}.

well, i'm glad to be back. while my trip was lovely, there is really nothing like sleeping in your own bed, eating dinner at your own kitchen table, and showering in your own shower. who's with me?
but, i did have fun. observe:

since moving to texas i've been craving in-n-out burger. i grew up eating there and was feeling seriously deprived of my double double with no tomato, fries and rootbeer. then they began building an in-n-out right. next. to. where. i. work. (it will be the first one that isn't in the west!)
excited? yes. but also its complete torture because, folks, they're building too slowly.

so, when i decided to go to utah, i vowed that my first meal in utah would be a double double with no tomato, fries and a rootbeer.
did that happen?
no.
why?
because cinnabun and starbucks happened instead. right there in the salt lake airport.

and guess what?
it was good.
and i didn't even feel bad for cheating on in-n-out.

first meal in utah: absolutely delicious.

stay tuned for more on my trip to utah! (i promise its not ALL about food...)
