the wayfarers.

last weekend i went to my friends' bands last performance together before Lo went and took her smarty pants self to law school. it was lovely.
the band is called the Wayfarers (yes, after the Rayban model) and they sing mostly Beatles covers.

perfect right? no, it gets better. all their shows are in coffee shops. okay. now that's perfect. even though i don't drink coffee, i love the chill atmosphere.

i know. not the best photos ever. but the lighting in the lovely, chill coffee shop? not so lovely and a little too chill. and i'm anti-flash so... that's the best of what i got.

madness.

something i've refrained from doing in awhile is allowed my inner nerd to shine through. i understand it can often be difficult to relate with people when you have no idea what they're talking about so i keep my i-love-batman-and-star-wars-and-LOTR-self harnessed a little more than i do other crazy parts of me.
i can't talk to people about my love for Nightwing or Hatter Madigan if they don't know who that is.
i can't discuss Miyazaki films with people who have never seen them (or didn't know they were watching them).
so when my friend, Cam, asked me if i wanted to go to the local comic book store (which i had never been to) my response was, of course, um... yes please!

basically, i found, thanks to him, one of the coolest places in North Texas: Madness Games&Comics.

my nerd-self is satisfied. more than, actually.

lo: what are you doing right now?
me: eating a little din din. you?
lo: basically nothing.
me. basically... should we do something?
lo: probably. what would you like to do? i could of course eat but it sounds like you're already doing that...
me: i can always eat. just because i just had dinner doesn't mean there's no room for dessert!
lo: haha. well so i could like drive over to our house right now. would that work?
me: yeah. that would work.
lo: ok. perf.
