3/9/11

here i am again.

well, my blog-vacay really helped. i really just needed some time to step back and see my life from a different perspective. and while things aren't perfect and "back to normal" (whatever normal is) i am happy to report that i'm feeling better and have been able to deal with things a lot more soundly than i was. thanks for being so patient in waiting while i stepped away from my blog for a bit. i only lost one follower over the break. i consider that to be coming out unscathed. :]
and guess what? i'm back, just in time for Lent. while i'm not Catholic, i highly believe they have an incredible system going on when it comes to Ash Wednesday and Lent. therefore, i am participating. i debated with myself for a bit on what to give up (if you're not familiar with Lent it is where you give up something for 40 days and 40 nights in preparation for Easter. aka the ressurection of Christ. you can give up anything you want.) at first i was thinking crappy foods but, lets be honest. i'm about to leave on a 2 week holiday with my sister and there is no way i'm going to be passing up fast food and junk food for our cross country road trip. sorry body. so instead, i decided to give up: negativity.
this is something that plagues my life daily. i often catch myself thinking negative thoughts or making negative comments and its high time i quit. i know my life will be much happier if apply a more positive thinking method to my daily routine, therefore i'm taking advantage of Lent and giving it up. hopefully by the time the 40 days and 40 nights are over, i will have reverted my thinking from negative to positive.
there now. that sounds nice, doesn't it?

what are you giving up for lent?
