3/8/10

and the oscar goes to...

*this was scheduled to post the monday after oscar night. for some reason it didn't. sorry its up so late!

we all love the oscars right?
i do.
i love tuning in, making my guesses at who will win,
talking about stars/films that do or don't deserve to win,
and making fun of people that suck at reading a teleprompter.
but my favorite part?
the fashion. it is the best part of the oscars.
so, for a little entertainment (and if you didn't catch the oscars live),
here's who i thought were the best and worst dressed [women] at the 2010 academy awards.

the worst (what were they thinking?)
{charlize theron in christian dior}
apparently she was in full bloom. need i say more?

{nicole richie in reem acra}
usually, i'm a big fan of her style. she's one of my fashion icons actually,
but this? she looks cleopatra being eaten by a big sparkly snake.

{vera farmiga in marchesa}
looking like a wedding center piece, i cringed when i saw vera.
the color had promise. the rest? didn't.

{sarah jessica parker in chanel}
as carrie bradshaw, i think we've all thought sjp couldn't go wrong,
we've deemed her a fashion goddess so to speak.
but then again i also thought chanel couldn't go wrong.
i was proved wrong on both accounts when i saw this getup.
obviously sjp didn't have her carrie on last night.

{zoe saldana in givenchy}
the top of the dress had promise,
but the lower down you went, the bigger the problem you had.
her duster/party decoration frock didn't cut it for me.

and
{j-lo in armani prive}
the thing about this dress is, i loved the shape.
even the huge poof thing was alright for me.
it was the texture of this dress.
she looks like she had to go through customs before she hit the oscars,
all bubble wrapped and styrafoamed.

well, after all that lets move over to who looked fabulous.

the best.
{demi moore in atelier versace}
i loved everything about this dress.
the color.
the shape.
the frills.
she looked stunning.

{elizabeth banks in versace}
this was pretty similar to demi's only different enough.
again, the color, shape, frills and i love the intricite stitching on the bodice.
a-list in my book.

{sandra bullock in marchesa}
ironic isn't it?
one person wears a hideous marchesa piece,
and another wears a gorgeous marchesa piece.
one wins best actress (the one in the good frock),
the other doesn't win anything.

{cameron diaz in oscar de le renta}
does cameron every look bad?
i can't really remember a time.
i'm sure there was one.
it just wasn't last night.

{anna kendrick in elie saab couture}
she was critisized for wearing a skin toned dress,
i however, think she looks great.
the dress is super age appropriate and it was her first oscar nom ever!
give the girl a break. i thought she looked fab.

{penelope cruz in donna karan couture}
i love the color of this dress.
she stood out amoung all the other skin toned and lighter pieces
that graced the red carpets last night, and i think she looked amazing.

when it comes right down to it,
what i say has no matter to anyone who "matters"
but i'm gunna share anyway!
that's all i have for tonight.
who were your faves and least faves at the oscars?

i'd like to thank the academy,

{all pics were found via google.com most were taken from instyle.}
