top 10 reasons to go see the avengers right now.

+10 - joss whedon. he wrote and directed it. he also wrote Toy Story, Buffy the Vampire, and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. he's amazing. you must go see why.
+9 - mark ruffalo actually made me like the hulk. his portrayal of the hulk was spot. on. like, whoa.
+8 - the film is hilarious.
+7 - every single actor in this movie did a spectacular job. not one person had me cringing or wishing they weren't in the movie.
+6 - muscles. muscles. muscles.
+5 - joss whedon cut no corners with this one. the story is awesome. the comedic timing is perfect. the character development is so well done. the sfx are amazeballs. its just a thoroughly enjoyable film.
+4 - the fight choreography is legit.
+3 - this isn't really a reason, more a word of advice: see it in 3D on XD or imax if you can. trust me it is so much more awesome.
+2 - in addition the extreme amount of muscles going on, you have chris hemsworth, rdj, chris evans, mark ruffalo and jeremy renner all in one film. how in the world could that go wrong? i mean, really.
and the number one reason to go see The Avengers:
+1 - tom. hiddleston.
gah. he's so adorable. and he was perfect as loki. he did such an amazing job, i was blown away.

have you seen the avengers yet? what'd you think?
if you haven't, please, please, please. go do so. okay?
xx

i'm hungry for more hunger games. (okay, that was really bad.)

i'm sure you've seen these smeared all over the world wide web, but i don't care. they are far too perfect not to share a little more. and just in case you weren't able to find them yourself, i've added where i found them. supposedly they were distributed to select different websites and i couldn't even find them on google. enjoy! and happy friday to you all.

{via}
okay so, even though i'm beyond stoked for woody harelson to play haymitch (he'll be awesome!) i'm not digging the long hair... who is with me?!

{via}
can i just say, Cinna looks perfect. i mean so does everyone else, but he is exactly what i pictured. exactly. however, i am nervous for lenny kravitz to portray this character... should be interesting.

{via}

{via}
you all know him as "the boy with the bread" but to me, movie-Peeta will forever be "the boy who i casted". and no, i'm never going to shut up about the fact that i called it long before his name was ever announced.

a Harry situation:

let's celebrate a little bit of Harry today, shall we?
because in two short days, i'll be seeing the 8th and final installment in Harry Potter and i just can't... i just can't even think about the fact that it's going to be over!
so, in homage to Harry and all his friends and the 10+ years we've all speant gasping, crying, laughing and smiling at all of their adventures, i've decided to share some very awesome, very Harry situations:

as Snape (Snape, Severous Snape) is one of my favorite characters in the whole series, i decided to share this beautiful landscape of Snape's life over the span of the 7 books. i cannot wait to see him in the 8th film. i'm going to cry when everything unfolds. i know it. *rapidly waves hand in front of eyes* its starting already.
little baby Potter and friends! i love this look back at all that Harry and his friends have been through. it's an emotional feeling watching it all and reflecting on the first time i opened the books and stepped into J.K. Rowling's wizarding world; or remembering the feeling i got when first seeing each movie. J.K. Rowling has created such an incredible world that is unmatchable in amazing, epic, awesomeness.
and lastly:
i love this. that's all i have to say.

so, whose going to the midnight showing like i am?
it's going to be EPIC. and then, it's going to be, over.

my week of summer-ness: must-see-films.

continuing my week of summer-ness, i thought i'd let you know what i consider to be the top five films to see over the summer (caution, i'm about to get my nerd on...):

i know i already talked about this film here, but i seriously cannot say enough good about this film. it was just, in a word, amazing. seriously. i have yet to hear from someone who didn't like it. every time i think about this film, i smile. can't help it, it was just that good. if you like amazing films with awesome scripts, incredible acting, perfect comedic timing and a great story line to boot, then go see it. if you don't then go watch The Hannah Montana Movie or something and don't talk to me.
(watch the trailer for Super 8 here)

"bright as day, black as night, no evil shall escape my sight.
let those who worship evil's might beware my power,
green lantern's LIGHT!"
basically, this movie looks awesome. so far i've been impressed with the comic book films that have been coming out in the last 5 years. the Batman flicks have taken a step up, Iron Man (1 & 2) were pretty dang good and then Thor. yeah, comic book films are definitely making a come back. i can only imagine this one being just. as. awesome.
plus, i love Green Lantern...
(trailer here)

i'll admit, i was skeptical about this film at first. but i'm notgunnalie, it looks kind of... awesome. and Hugh Jackman is in it so... i don't really think anything more needs to be said...
(watch the trailer here.)

...do i need to give you a reason to see this movie?
fine then, i will. this movie marks the beginning of something incredibly exciting: The Avengers (which comes out next year). i know Thor has already been released, but Captain America was the FIRST avenger. this film starts it all.
and come on, does it not look ridiculously awesome? even that will be enough to defer my thoughts from the fact that i'm still not thrilled about Chris Evans as Captain America...
(if you want to watch the movie trailer, like i just did, you can do it here.)

annnnd,
seriously the most bittersweet movie of my life. i'm so, so, so super stoked (especially cause i'm seeing it with one of my faves) but at the same time, i am so, so, so sad that it will officially and indefinitely be over.
okay, its official. i don't want to talk about it.
(if you want to border-line-cry today, go ahead. watch the trailer here. i for one can't even hear the music that goes with this trailer without welling up... its bad guys.)

and, just because, here are a few runners up:
Thor -- great film. GREAT film. and, if you're in the mood for eye candy, just hop on over and see Thor you won't be disappointed.
Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides -- honestly? i thought this was great. it made me laugh and it kept me entertained and that's all i expected out of it.
Midnight in Paris -- haven't seen it yet, but i'm dying to. it looks amaziful.

what will you be seeing this summer??
do tell!!

♥ ♥

(if you missed the first 2 days of my summer-ness, you can view day one here and day two here. just, you know, if you're bored or something...)

some excellent films & give away winner announced!

last week was my first full day of work at my new job. because of that i had a lot going on thus the lack of blogging annnnnd i failed to announce the lucky winner of the Sea of Blooming Dreams give away! well, lets get right to that, shall we?
the winner issssss (drum roll please!):
kristen!
kristen, thank you for your wonderful comment! and i expect to see a picture of the outfit you described with the give away prize because it sounds marvelous!
kristen has a lovely little blog called summer sets in. you should go congratulate her and check out her blog too!
congratulations, kristen, please e-mail me your contact info (sparrow.child @ hotmail.com) and let me know which one of the three gifts you want.

next item of business, movies. (isn't it always?)
last week i saw this:

 and this:
both blew my mind and were completely and utterly amazing. i. loved. them.
Thor was basically the epitome of what an awesomely well done comic book film looks like. all the characters looked exactly as i had imagined them to, the movie was a perfect mix of funny, action and SWOONAGE!! so, really, what more could one ask for in a film? the answer would be: nothing. (the only thing i could have done without was the lady warrior friend of Thor's. that chick was annoying and had horribly fake hair. ick.)

as for Super 8, the comedic timing was magnificent. it made the film if you ask me. and the fact that the cast is made up primarily of children blew my mind. those kids can act. they encompassed their characters so well. my personal favorite character was Charles. that kid was freaking awesome. but really, i give props to the entire cast because they were incredible. props should also go out to JJ Abrams, the writer and director and to Steven Spielberg for investing money into a spectacular project.

if you have some spare time {and money} this week, go see one of these. or both of them. you wont regret it.

more talk about movie castings. i just can't stop...

if you aren't a Mortal Instruments fan, you may not care about this. i, however, am a DIE HARD TMI/TID fan so of course, i care. annnnnnd i have an opinion about everything so... (hence me being a blogger in the first place!)
well, not too long ago, 90% of the Hunger Games cast was finally announced and i think you can all recall how i felt about that.
now its been time for me to move on to obsessing over the next casting of one of my favorite books to movies series: The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (remember, i talked about them in these posts...) anyway, awhile ago, the lead girl in the book, Clary Fray was cast. enter Lily Collins. in my mind, she's perfect for the part.

well then the search began for the perfect Jace Wayland; the backbone of the story. the swoon worthy hero that everyone likes to drool over and read about over and over and over again.
of course, i was on #teamalexforjace
to me, he was absolutely Jace: moody, arrogant, vulnerable, BEAUTIFUL... and of course, Alex Pettyfer was offered the part, but there were... complications.

well, because of those complications, guess who was just recently cast as the one and only Jace Wayland?
yeah...
you may recognize him as Caius (a Volturi member from Twilight):

or as Gellert Grindelwald in the upcoming finale of the Harry Potter films (aka that guy who's engaged to Bonnie Wright/Ginny Weasley)

i mean, he's definitely playing it smart, getting in on the Twilight franchise as well as the Harry Potter obsession and now he's infiltrating The Mortal Instruments fanbase as well! can't say he's not smart in his film picking.
but is he right for Jace?
as a fan, i just don't think so.
while i'm not questioning his acting abilities (i mean, look at the roles he's done...) i am questioning his essence. even what Cassie Clare, the author herself, had to say about it has done little to calm my anxious nerves on the subject.
if he's amazing as Jace Wayland, i'll personally eat my words.
but for now, i'm feeling less than comfortable with the pick of Jaime Campbell Bower.
although, congrats to him on landing such a prestigious part.
that's gotta rock.

what do you guys think?
any of you TMI fans?

4/21/11

i been to da movies.

i've been seeing quite a few movies lately. some new, others... notsomuch. but i thought i'd share my thoughts just in case ya'll are looking for an opinion on what's out right now.

Gnomeo and Juliet
i thought this was pretty darn cute! it was a fun spin on a classic story. it also kept the boys entertained which is always a plus.
while i still didn't love it as much as a few others i've seen (Finding Nemo, Toy Story) i'd recommend it if you are looking for something light and whimsical with a good laugh.

Source Code
first of all, Jake Gyllenhaal. mmmmmm. reason enough to see the film. mmmmkay?
okay, no but seriously. this was pretty good. i wasn't a HUGE fan of the ending, however i give them credit for an intriguing story and a movie well done. i was pleasantly surprised how they did things (it'd be tough to have to keep repeating a scene over and over again while trying to keep your audience engaged) but they did a good job. and the story was interesting. frustrating. but interesting. it was cool trying to figure things out right along with Jake Gyllenhaal's character.
over all, i'd say this was a pretty good flick. you could go see it.

Hanna
best movie i've seen in a long time. the acting was top notch, the scripting was excellent, the story was exciting. it had all the elements it needed to make a fantastic film. the one draw back was that, to me, it was pretty graphic and i didn't like that. but it was a great story and an all around great flick. go see it if you want to be thoroughly entertained. (and it has my girl Saoirse Ronan in it!)

Tron
i know, i'm way behind on this one. i'll admit, going into this film, i had mixed expectations. i had heard a lot of bad about this movie but i so badly wanted it to be good so i was hopeful.
and not to put it too lightly: this. movie. rocked.
i loved it! the special effects were incredible! that alone was satisfying enough then throw in a good story and some solid acting into the mix and wa-la, you've got one heck of a good flick!
have you seen it? if not, you might want to consider it.
its in Redbox. its $1. what have you got to loose?

Suckerpunch
remember when i gushed about this film? well, it lived up to my expectations. if for no other reason, everyone needs to see this film so that they can hear the soundtrack and see the cinematography because it was mind blowing. literally. i had never seen a Zak Snyder film (that is real life) and going in, i didn't really know what to expect. after seeing this though, i can absolutely see why he's such an accredited director.
now, the story was a little hooky and yes, it is a bunch of girls running around in somewhat scandalous clothing, but i thought it was good. it kept my attention the whole time and that's what makes a successful film, am i right?
go see it. you might like it.

what have you seen lately? anything good?

2/2/11

the "s" movies.

as you've probably seen on the news (or not) we (as in northern texas) are snowed in (even though i went to work yesterday), so my family and i have been getting cozy. on my way home from work yesterday, my pops and i decided to hit up a redbox and rob them of their films so we'd have some entertainment for this blizzardy weather. when we got home, i realized all our movies started with an "s". "s" for snowed in - get it? no? okay. . . moving on *said in a that-was-awkward tone*.
ahem. anyway, we rented secretariat, the social network, and salt. none of which any of us had seen before. me being the big movie buff i am, watched them (as i do all flicks) very critically and formed strong opinions of them.
this is the part where i share said opinions ("s" is also for spoiler alert. so if you haven't seen these, and are planning to, maybe skip this one. i can't promise how much or how little i'll actually give away...):

secretariat
{image via google/images}
i love true stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and happy. just plain happy. well,  secretariat was one of those stories if you're not familiar with it, its the true story of a woman who has to take over her father's horse racing/breeding business and everything that comes with it.
i loved the story and may or may not have even teared up at one or two parts in the movie. but that was all after i got past the acting which was. . . pretty bad. i thought the actors reactions to a lot of the circumstances were very stale and transparent and at some points it felt like a rehearsal of certain scenes rather than the actual finished product.
that being said, i'd still recommend it. especially if you need a hopeful boost or are in the mood for an over all feel-good movie.
*this film is comparable to dreamer only with less seasoned actors.

the social network.
{image via google/images.}
i need to own this film.
originally, i was intrigued to see it because i sort of admire mark zuckerburg. i mean, he's the youngest billionaire in the world. that deserves some respect, right? plus he dropped out of harvard and went the entrepreneurial route. another couple of things i admire.
so, i've been wanting to see this one.
and i'm glad i did because it was amazing. (of course it was amazing, it has 8 oscar noms.)
aside from the fact that its been called a 'work of fiction' from more than one of the parties actually involved in the actual creation of facebook, i still really enjoyed it. the actors were phenomenal (i was even impressed by little brenda song, the disney star from suite life of zack and cody) and the scripting was magnificent (hey, what do you know, those were 2 of the things it was nominated for.) over all, the film was really interesting and kept my attention the whole time. it was witty and clever and at some points out of control and i really, really enjoyed it.
you should see it.
but read about mark zuckerburg first so that you don't get the wrong impression of him by watching the film.
also, who loved my boy jt in this? i think he was lovely.

salt.
{image via google/images.}
so, i've been going back and forth whether i wanted to see this or not since it came out. i debated that it'd probably just be another tomb raider (yuck) or any of the other completely cookie cutter movie that she seems to come out with every couple of years.
well, i finally forked out my dollar and watched it and. . .
ugh.
i really just didn't like it.
while i thought angelina jolie did well (i'll give her that, even though i don't care for her), i thought the story was pretty bad and the stunts they had her do were horrible.
i mean, when she was jumping from one semi-truck to the other while they're flying down the free way, all i could think was 'yeah right' and then again when she was jumping down in the elevator shaft.
huge thumbs down for that.
and then i love (<-- sarcasm) how there were coats and hats (among other things) conveniently placed in her path so that she had the luxury of changing her identity sporadically as needed. and oh how well those coats fit her even though they were randomly yoinked from a dry cleaning rack in the hall of a hotel.
i also really didn't like how she, one woman, took on 3 and 4 guys at a time. i'm not saying she couldn't do it because she's a woman, i'm saying she couldn't do it because she's one person. i mean here she is, battling it out with these highly trained and conditioned fbi/cia agents who are armed might i add, but somehow she beats the crap out of them with very little to show for it. movies like that make the cia/fbi/ai etc look really bad. and i hate that too.
and then the ending. barf. i wont elaborate if you haven't seen it, but that's all you need to know. barf.
i don't know. it just all seemed super unrealistic to me, which, for a film like that, seeming realistic is pretty key.

there you have it.
my opinions on hollywood's latest.

what'd you think of these flicks?
if you've been snowed in this week like i have, what've you been doing??

12/27/10

alls well that ends well.

i don't know about you, but i'm pretty worn out from a marvelous last couple of days (pics to come later). whew.
my christmas was wonderful. sissykins was in town, everyone was happy and jolly and giving and it was just wonderful. christmas eve was a pretty busy one (as it usually is) i was up all night putting the finishing touches on everyone's gifts (which i made this year), but it was fun and i was pretty excited to give everyone what i had spent time making specifically for them.
as far as gifts go, i was absolutely spoiled this year. i got a mattress for my room, huzzah! (i haven't been sleeping in my room since i moved to texas a month ago. i've been sleeping in my little brother's room on their bottom bunk) and a silhouette machine! i was so surprised when i opened it, that i started crying. you see, this year i didn't ask for things i wanted, i only asked for things i needed. money is a little tight around here and i didn't feel like asking for all sorts of things that i didn't need would be very practical or fair. so when i opened the silhouette machine i started crying because not only did i REALLY want one, but my mom knew without me even having to ask. i felt so spoiled. - on top of all that, my sister brought me a whole bunch of my stuff that i had left behind in utah, which is awesome! i now have all my color back so i will be able to start taking hair clients again. wonderful.
after presents, me and a few of my siblings went and saw voyage of the dawn treader (review later) and then came home and played games with the rest of the fam till the wee hours of the night.
all in all, it was a wonderful christmas. i'm excited for a new year now. 2011 will be as awesome as 2010. i can feel it.

how was your christmas? i hope it was absolutely magnificent!

12/19/10

let's talk films, shall we? part 2. (so many links and fun stuff to watch. you're welcome.)

in part 1 of 'let's talk films, shall we?' i talked about my favorite films of 2010. now that 2010 is almost over, i'm going to share my most anticipated movies of 2011 for part 2. i have a feeling 2011 is going to be just as good of a movie year as 2010 was... if not better! (if you haven't read part 1 yet, you can do that here.)

so, without further hesitation, these are the top 10 films i'm most excited about seeing next year:

(so, there isn't a trailer out for it yet. boo.)
i don't know as much about captain america as i do other superheroes/comic book characters, but i know enough to be excited about this flick. i used to hate comic book movies, but they have just gotten better and better over time (thank you christopher nolan!) and i've grown to like comic books more and more (i may or may not be a comic book nerd...) thus the basis of its appeal! besides that, its got stanley tucci in it whom i quite fond of and just the plot line alone makes it sound pretty friggin awesome.
besides all that, this film will be a great intro to the avengers which is coming out in 2012. now THAT's going to be an awesome movie!
(this flick comes out in july)

...another super hero movie. turns out, there are a lot of good ones coming out in the next 2 years. huzzah!
anyway, mainly, i'm anticipating seeing seth rogan as a super hero. i figure it will be more like iron man than batman when it comes to serious vs funny, but i'm good with either, so... i'm excited!
(this flick comes out in january.)

8. thor
enter super hero movie number 3 (and i'm not done either. there will be another one on the list, just you wait!) so, thor pretty much rocks. also, this movie will star natalie portman and kat dennings who also rock. on top of that, its a super hero flick and basically just looks pretty stupendous.
(anyone else remember thor from way back in the day when they talked about him on the adventures in baby sitting? yeah, me too!)
(this movie comes out in may.)

so, i read this book over the summer this year and have been anticipating the movie ever since. i like that the book is still pretty new (released in august) and i love the cast they chose (alex pettyfer ((who can join my list of beautiful british men!)) as number 4, and dianna agron ((whom you most likely know from glee)) as sarah). i'm surprised at how good it looks because usually, you can bet that the book-to-movie portrayal will suck.
i'm just glad its not a big phenomenon yet...
(this movie comes out in february.)

doesn't it look all sorts of awesome? anyway, yeah, i'm one of those people that still like the transformers movies... not only am i excited to shia do another one of these flicks, my girl rosie huntington-whiteley is in it as well. that should be fun. (fingers crossed that she doesn't suck...)
anyway, even though i was super skeptical about the first transformers movie when it first came out, i have grown to love it and number two over the years. i've been waiting for this one for a long time now.
(this film comes out in july)

of the three (so far) films robert pattinson has releasing next year, i'm most definitely most excited about this one (with bel ami being a close runner up.) i believe this is the one film on my list that isn't an action/epic/fantasy movie hmmmm. the story sounds so interesting though and i am also a reese witherspoon fan, so you can bet i'll be there opening night drooling over my boy and watching with bright eyes and a silly smile. also, i love elephants.
(this film comes out in april.)

duuuude. okay, a) green lantern is a dc comic. i like dc a little more than i like marvel, so i'm pretty excited that they are in fact putting out a film this year. hopefully their one will keep up with marvel's two. we shall see my friends. b) its ryan reynolds... did i need to say more then that? c) green lantern is one of my favorite comic characters so, yes, i'm excited for this flick. plus, it looks awesome and... that's about it.
(this flick comes out in june.)

i heard about this movie in 2008 and have been anticipating it ever since. the pirates trilogy is already one of my favorite movie series of all times, so naturally, i'm excited about this one! its going to be interesting seeing penelope cruz in a film like this, but i'm excited for it.
and who can say "no" to more jack sparrow? i mean, really.
(this film comes out in may.)

breaking this book up into two movies was the most genius (and rude) thing warner brothers could have done. its awesome because we still have more harry potter to anticipate, but the way they show clips from both films in the trailers and the fact that we have to wait for part two to come out is basically torture. i'm excited and sad about this all rolled into one. why? because after this one, its over. we will have no more harry potter movies to look forward to. that's saying something considering the fact that one has come out basically every year since 2001 and before that if we didn't have the movies to look forward to, we at least had the books! its going to be weird not waiting for anything harry potter to come out...
anyway, with my love for part one being so immense, i'm just squirming in my seat for part 2.
(this movie comes out in july.)

and my number one anticipated movie of the year is...

are you surprised? -- so i have a confession about this movie: i've watched the trailers for it about a billion times and stalked the imdb page like a new crush on facebook. i am STOKED for this flick. when they describe it as 'alice in wonderland with machine guns' how could i not be stoked about it? so i'm a nerd. it's okay, i'm a happy nerd! this film looks freaking, epically, awesomely, legendary. plus it has emily browning whom i love (she was my ultimate pick for bella swan). i also think it will be interesting to see v-hud in something other than a teeny bopper flick... i can't wait until march. no really, i can't.
(this flick comes out in march.)

i wanna know, what are you excited to see next year?

12/17/10

let's talk films, shall we? part 1.

well, i'm a big ole movie fanatic over here. yep. love them.
with 2010 being a spectacular year for movies and 2011 to be promising as well, i decided to do a segment on which i talk films. part 1 will involve my favorite movies of 2010, part 2 will involve the movies i'm most anticipating for 2011.
should be fun, right?
lets get started.

so, last year, i made a list of movies i was MOST excited to see. its funny because i look back on that list now and i just c-r-i-n-g-e at some of the films on there. there were a few that i didn't even get around to seeing and most of the ones i did see, were only so-so at best. quincidently enough, only 3 of them even made my favorites of 2010 list.
so, what did make the list? i'm glad you asked.

here are my top 10 favorite movies of 2010:
(in no particular order -- and please take into a account there are quite a few movies that were released this year that i haven't seen yet i.e. the social network, tron, the voyage of the dawn treader, and tangled to name a few...)

1. alice in wonderland -- i thought this film was excellent! tim burton is brilliant so i'm not surprised that it was good, but i'm glad it was! everything about it: costumes, acting, set design, sfx etc. was top notch in my book! plus, alice in wonderland is one of my all time favorite stories, so it was so awesome to see it done like this.
2. easy a -- okay, seriously, if you haven't seen this, please go do it. besides the fact that emma stone and stanley tucci are in it (two of my faves), the movie is hilarious. hil-ar-i-ous
3. eclipse -- i'm so glad that chris weitz and david slade have pulled the twilight saga from the craptastic disaster that it was thanks to catherine hardwicke. i still think new moon was the best done of the three, but i really like eclipse as well. plus, its r-patz, my love, so...
4. robin hood -- ugh. this was such an excellent film. i was a little skeptical going in because i'm not that big of a russell crowe fan (and i didn't even KNOW that mark strong is in it) but i was pleasantly surprised. it was such a good movie. mostly, i loved the story. but everything else was quite awesome too. if you ask me, it had all the elements that make a good movie just that, a good movie.
5. scott pilgram vs the world -- i'll be honest, i didn't even want to see this until a few days before it came out, then i got excited about it. this flick was excellent! so entertaining. there was so much going on that i was never left feeling wanting.
6. inception -- chances are, you saw this movie. chances are, you loved this movie. if you didn't... i don't know how to help you because quite honestly this is one of the best films i've ever seen. as a major christopher nolan fan, i was already stoked to see it, but then with all the actors involved and everything else that went it to this movie, i walked away with a blown mind not once or twice, but three times. yeah. it was that good.
7. harry potter and the deathly hallows pt.1 -- of course this has to be on the list. best. harry. potter. yet. and we still have one more to go. thank heavens. ugh. this movie. it was funny, romantic, epic, action-packed, dramatic... what more do you want from a movie? i mean, really?
8. prince of persia: the sands of time -- with a title like that, i'm hoping that means they intend to make more... i was so impressed with this movie i saw it three times in theatres. jake gyllenhaul did an amazing job and i was thoroughly entertained throughout the whole thing. prince of persia? yes. please.
9. how to train your dragon -- this was SO good!! so good. i loved the way the movie was done. the humor was witty (any children's movie that doesn't include farting jokes gets an a+ in my book), the action scenes were entertaining, and even when they weren't flying around on dragons, or fighting them, it was still fun to watch. i'd recommend this movie to anyone.
10. unstoppable -- most based-on-true-events flicks are enjoyable just because you're watching something that actually happened. add denzel washington and rosario dawson into the mix and you know you're going to get an excellent film. which, it was. it was an excellent film.

that concludes my list of favorite movies from 2010.
what movies did you love this year?

stay tuned for part 2 of, let's talk films, shall we?!

12/1/10

these are dark times. there is no denying.

"well, well, well, look what we have here. it's harry potter..."

i admit, i've seen the film twice already...
and i waited in line for 4+ hours both times.
yes. its true. i'm a harry potter fanatic.

i thought it was an excellent film though.
best harry potter yet.
the amazing part was though, that i did not shed one tear while watching this movie. and that's saying something considering the fact that i bawled like a baby while watching the 4th one and shed a few tears in 5 and 6 as well.
if you haven't seen it, i wont give anything away, but i will say:
the acting was wonderful, spfx marvelous and everything else just fell into place in the most satisfying of ways.
it made me so anxious to see part 2.
i.
can't.
wait.

have you seen it?
want to fangirl over it with me? - lets talk.
