let's talk films, shall we? part 2. (so many links and fun stuff to watch. you're welcome.)

in part 1 of 'let's talk films, shall we?' i talked about my favorite films of 2010. now that 2010 is almost over, i'm going to share my most anticipated movies of 2011 for part 2. i have a feeling 2011 is going to be just as good of a movie year as 2010 was... if not better! (if you haven't read part 1 yet, you can do that here.)

so, without further hesitation, these are the top 10 films i'm most excited about seeing next year:

(so, there isn't a trailer out for it yet. boo.)
i don't know as much about captain america as i do other superheroes/comic book characters, but i know enough to be excited about this flick. i used to hate comic book movies, but they have just gotten better and better over time (thank you christopher nolan!) and i've grown to like comic books more and more (i may or may not be a comic book nerd...) thus the basis of its appeal! besides that, its got stanley tucci in it whom i quite fond of and just the plot line alone makes it sound pretty friggin awesome.
besides all that, this film will be a great intro to the avengers which is coming out in 2012. now THAT's going to be an awesome movie!
(this flick comes out in july)

...another super hero movie. turns out, there are a lot of good ones coming out in the next 2 years. huzzah!
anyway, mainly, i'm anticipating seeing seth rogan as a super hero. i figure it will be more like iron man than batman when it comes to serious vs funny, but i'm good with either, so... i'm excited!
(this flick comes out in january.)

8. thor
enter super hero movie number 3 (and i'm not done either. there will be another one on the list, just you wait!) so, thor pretty much rocks. also, this movie will star natalie portman and kat dennings who also rock. on top of that, its a super hero flick and basically just looks pretty stupendous.
(anyone else remember thor from way back in the day when they talked about him on the adventures in baby sitting? yeah, me too!)
(this movie comes out in may.)

so, i read this book over the summer this year and have been anticipating the movie ever since. i like that the book is still pretty new (released in august) and i love the cast they chose (alex pettyfer ((who can join my list of beautiful british men!)) as number 4, and dianna agron ((whom you most likely know from glee)) as sarah). i'm surprised at how good it looks because usually, you can bet that the book-to-movie portrayal will suck.
i'm just glad its not a big phenomenon yet...
(this movie comes out in february.)

doesn't it look all sorts of awesome? anyway, yeah, i'm one of those people that still like the transformers movies... not only am i excited to shia do another one of these flicks, my girl rosie huntington-whiteley is in it as well. that should be fun. (fingers crossed that she doesn't suck...)
anyway, even though i was super skeptical about the first transformers movie when it first came out, i have grown to love it and number two over the years. i've been waiting for this one for a long time now.
(this film comes out in july)

of the three (so far) films robert pattinson has releasing next year, i'm most definitely most excited about this one (with bel ami being a close runner up.) i believe this is the one film on my list that isn't an action/epic/fantasy movie hmmmm. the story sounds so interesting though and i am also a reese witherspoon fan, so you can bet i'll be there opening night drooling over my boy and watching with bright eyes and a silly smile. also, i love elephants.
(this film comes out in april.)

duuuude. okay, a) green lantern is a dc comic. i like dc a little more than i like marvel, so i'm pretty excited that they are in fact putting out a film this year. hopefully their one will keep up with marvel's two. we shall see my friends. b) its ryan reynolds... did i need to say more then that? c) green lantern is one of my favorite comic characters so, yes, i'm excited for this flick. plus, it looks awesome and... that's about it.
(this flick comes out in june.)

i heard about this movie in 2008 and have been anticipating it ever since. the pirates trilogy is already one of my favorite movie series of all times, so naturally, i'm excited about this one! its going to be interesting seeing penelope cruz in a film like this, but i'm excited for it.
and who can say "no" to more jack sparrow? i mean, really.
(this film comes out in may.)

breaking this book up into two movies was the most genius (and rude) thing warner brothers could have done. its awesome because we still have more harry potter to anticipate, but the way they show clips from both films in the trailers and the fact that we have to wait for part two to come out is basically torture. i'm excited and sad about this all rolled into one. why? because after this one, its over. we will have no more harry potter movies to look forward to. that's saying something considering the fact that one has come out basically every year since 2001 and before that if we didn't have the movies to look forward to, we at least had the books! its going to be weird not waiting for anything harry potter to come out...
anyway, with my love for part one being so immense, i'm just squirming in my seat for part 2.
(this movie comes out in july.)

and my number one anticipated movie of the year is...

are you surprised? -- so i have a confession about this movie: i've watched the trailers for it about a billion times and stalked the imdb page like a new crush on facebook. i am STOKED for this flick. when they describe it as 'alice in wonderland with machine guns' how could i not be stoked about it? so i'm a nerd. it's okay, i'm a happy nerd! this film looks freaking, epically, awesomely, legendary. plus it has emily browning whom i love (she was my ultimate pick for bella swan). i also think it will be interesting to see v-hud in something other than a teeny bopper flick... i can't wait until march. no really, i can't.
(this flick comes out in march.)

i wanna know, what are you excited to see next year?

12/17/10

let's talk films, shall we? part 1.

well, i'm a big ole movie fanatic over here. yep. love them.
with 2010 being a spectacular year for movies and 2011 to be promising as well, i decided to do a segment on which i talk films. part 1 will involve my favorite movies of 2010, part 2 will involve the movies i'm most anticipating for 2011.
should be fun, right?
lets get started.

so, last year, i made a list of movies i was MOST excited to see. its funny because i look back on that list now and i just c-r-i-n-g-e at some of the films on there. there were a few that i didn't even get around to seeing and most of the ones i did see, were only so-so at best. quincidently enough, only 3 of them even made my favorites of 2010 list.
so, what did make the list? i'm glad you asked.

here are my top 10 favorite movies of 2010:
(in no particular order -- and please take into a account there are quite a few movies that were released this year that i haven't seen yet i.e. the social network, tron, the voyage of the dawn treader, and tangled to name a few...)

1. alice in wonderland -- i thought this film was excellent! tim burton is brilliant so i'm not surprised that it was good, but i'm glad it was! everything about it: costumes, acting, set design, sfx etc. was top notch in my book! plus, alice in wonderland is one of my all time favorite stories, so it was so awesome to see it done like this.
2. easy a -- okay, seriously, if you haven't seen this, please go do it. besides the fact that emma stone and stanley tucci are in it (two of my faves), the movie is hilarious. hil-ar-i-ous
3. eclipse -- i'm so glad that chris weitz and david slade have pulled the twilight saga from the craptastic disaster that it was thanks to catherine hardwicke. i still think new moon was the best done of the three, but i really like eclipse as well. plus, its r-patz, my love, so...
4. robin hood -- ugh. this was such an excellent film. i was a little skeptical going in because i'm not that big of a russell crowe fan (and i didn't even KNOW that mark strong is in it) but i was pleasantly surprised. it was such a good movie. mostly, i loved the story. but everything else was quite awesome too. if you ask me, it had all the elements that make a good movie just that, a good movie.
5. scott pilgram vs the world -- i'll be honest, i didn't even want to see this until a few days before it came out, then i got excited about it. this flick was excellent! so entertaining. there was so much going on that i was never left feeling wanting.
6. inception -- chances are, you saw this movie. chances are, you loved this movie. if you didn't... i don't know how to help you because quite honestly this is one of the best films i've ever seen. as a major christopher nolan fan, i was already stoked to see it, but then with all the actors involved and everything else that went it to this movie, i walked away with a blown mind not once or twice, but three times. yeah. it was that good.
7. harry potter and the deathly hallows pt.1 -- of course this has to be on the list. best. harry. potter. yet. and we still have one more to go. thank heavens. ugh. this movie. it was funny, romantic, epic, action-packed, dramatic... what more do you want from a movie? i mean, really?
8. prince of persia: the sands of time -- with a title like that, i'm hoping that means they intend to make more... i was so impressed with this movie i saw it three times in theatres. jake gyllenhaul did an amazing job and i was thoroughly entertained throughout the whole thing. prince of persia? yes. please.
9. how to train your dragon -- this was SO good!! so good. i loved the way the movie was done. the humor was witty (any children's movie that doesn't include farting jokes gets an a+ in my book), the action scenes were entertaining, and even when they weren't flying around on dragons, or fighting them, it was still fun to watch. i'd recommend this movie to anyone.
10. unstoppable -- most based-on-true-events flicks are enjoyable just because you're watching something that actually happened. add denzel washington and rosario dawson into the mix and you know you're going to get an excellent film. which, it was. it was an excellent film.

that concludes my list of favorite movies from 2010.
what movies did you love this year?

stay tuned for part 2 of, let's talk films, shall we?!

12/8/10

please excuse my fangirl moment.

in just two short days, the chronicles of narnia: the voyage of the dawn treader hits theaters.
bah! i have been waiting for this for over a year and i can barley, barley, BARLEY contain my excitement.
no really.
i'm stoked.
you guys, go see it. i'm sure its going to be legen - wait for it.... dary! legendary.
(oh and you have my permission to drool over my boy ben barnes who plays caspian.)

12/1/10

these are dark times. there is no denying.

"well, well, well, look what we have here. it's harry potter..."

i admit, i've seen the film twice already...
and i waited in line for 4+ hours both times.
yes. its true. i'm a harry potter fanatic.

i thought it was an excellent film though.
best harry potter yet.
the amazing part was though, that i did not shed one tear while watching this movie. and that's saying something considering the fact that i bawled like a baby while watching the 4th one and shed a few tears in 5 and 6 as well.
if you haven't seen it, i wont give anything away, but i will say:
the acting was wonderful, spfx marvelous and everything else just fell into place in the most satisfying of ways.
it made me so anxious to see part 2.
i.
can't.
wait.

have you seen it?
want to fangirl over it with me? - lets talk.

11/29/10

love me some...

...jensen [ross] ackles.
*swoon*
*sigh*
*drool*
*squee*

yes. I am celeb crushing on him big time.
he's even made it in to my top 5 list of celeb crushes of all time.
(he's in company with robert pattionson, justin timberlake, ben barnes, and ed westwick.)
because he's so wonderful.

i've been watching supernatural like cRaZy.
as well as smallville and a few other things, just to get my jensen fix.
he's been in SO many cw shows which makes it very easy to fangirl over him.

isn't he pretty?!
i most definitely think so.
and he's funny too. definitely a big plus.
*sigh*

yep. i'm fangirling over him.
major.

sorry rob and ben.
i've found an american that i like as much as i like the two of you.
